Frequently asked questions

What is DeePsy?
DeePsy is an innovative startup specializing in the creation of online psychological tests presented as games. These tests are designed to predict individuals' future behavior in a non-declarative manner, meaning they measure automatic and spontaneous responses rather than conscious and reflective answers. DeePsy primarily targets two client segments: HR/recruiters and healthcare professionals. For HR managers and recruiters, DeePsy offers tests focused on personality, motivation, soft skills, and cognitive abilities. These tests help select the most efficient and suitable candidates for a given position, addressing the issue of recruitment errors. For healthcare professionals, DeePsy’s tests assess aspects such as anxiety and suicidal intentions in depressed patients. These evaluations allow for refined diagnosis and the implementation of tailored preventive measures.
Who can use DeePsy's tests, and in what contexts are they relevant?
→ HR and recruitment professionals: By offering personality tests based on implicit measures in the recruitment process (studying behavioral competencies), there is a significantly lower likelihood of bias, resulting in fewer selection errors. Unlike traditional questionnaires, these tests cannot be faked. Thanks to DeePsy's innovation, we can optimize the recruitment process with greater efficiency while making it more engaging. → Anyone seeking a better understanding of themselves in the professional world. → Healthcare professionals: DeePsy’s tests assess aspects such as anxiety and suicidal intentions in depressed patients.
How do psychological tests work?
The tests at DeePsy are created using psychological methods. They are designed to measure the strength of automatic associations a person has in their mind between concepts. In other words, they reveal how certain ideas or objects are unconsciously linked to positive or negative attributes in our minds. For example, imagine playing a fast-paced game on a computer. The screen shows a series of words or images, and you must categorize them. For instance, words related to joy or sadness may appear, and you need to associate them with categories like "positive" or "negative" by pressing specific keys. In some parts of the test, the categories are combined in ways that feel natural for many people (joy = positive), while in others, they are combined less intuitively (sadness = positive). The test measures how quickly you can associate the words or images with these categories in different combinations. If someone is faster at associating words related to joy with "positive" and words related to sadness with "negative," it indicates an implicit association between joy and positive evaluations, and sadness with negative evaluations. Unlike traditional questionnaires where respondents can alter their answers to present themselves better (especially during an interview), DeePsy’s tests minimize this risk by assessing spontaneous and automatic reactions to specific word categories.
What is the average duration of a DeePsy test, and how are the results presented?
The duration of a DeePsy test depends on the individual but typically ranges from 3 to 7 minutes. To access a detailed report of your score, you must enter your email at the end of the test when prompted.
Do DeePsy’s tests require specific preparation?
No, a tutorial is provided at the beginning of each test. However, for optimal reliability, we recommend taking the tests in a quiet room where you are alone and less likely to be interrupted or disturbed.
How should DeePsy test results be interpreted?
It’s important to note that your score is neither positive nor negative. Each percentage corresponds to a level. For example, in the extraversion personality test, if you score 35%, it means you tend to be more introverted. You can imagine a slider moving along a line from 0 to 100 (the extremes), with the middle representing the average. There are positive interpretations and strengths to be drawn from each personality trait, whatever they may be. The key is to understand these aspects and use them to your advantage in your personal and professional life.
What do mental health scores mean?
For burnout and anxiety tests, the interpretation differs from personality tests. These tests are designed to assess mental health risks. They reflect how close you might be to experiencing professional burnout or how stressed you might feel. Low scores indicate minimal stress, while high scores indicate the opposite. Burnout test scores are a useful indicator to help you understand where you stand in your relationship to work without providing a diagnosis.
I made some mistakes; does this affect my score?
No, your score does not depend on the number of mistakes, so there’s no need to worry. A person who makes 20 mistakes and another who makes 2 can achieve the same score. DeePsy tests focus on accuracy, response time, and participants’ reaction times. Error correction is mandatory to continue the test, but it adds a delay, which is factored into the final score calculation. However, making more than 20% mistakes invalidates your test, and you will need to retake it.
What happens if a problem occurs during a test?
If a technical issue or interruption occurs during a test, your answers are not saved, and it is not possible to resume where you left off. We recommend retaking the test from the beginning to ensure your responses are fully recorded. Similarly, you may encounter bugs at the end of the test (e.g., a page taking a long time to load). In such cases, follow the same procedure: return to the DeePsy homepage and retake the test you wish to complete.
How does DeePsy ensure user data confidentiality and protection?
DeePsy is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and local legislation. For more details, please consult our Privacy Policy (https://deepsy.fr/privacy).

How are DeePsy tests different from other psychological evaluations on the market?
Unlike traditional psychological tests that often rely on self-reports where participants consciously evaluate their behaviors or emotional states, DeePsy tests use implicit methods. This means they measure individuals' automatic and spontaneous reactions to different stimuli, offering a perspective less influenced by participants' self-awareness. The format of DeePsy tests is designed to be engaging, making the psychological evaluation experience less stressful and more motivating for participants. This format helps maintain users' attention and motivation throughout the test, improving the quality of collected data. Additionally, DeePsy collaborates with research institutions to continuously refine its tools, which is not always the case with other evaluations on the market.
Is it possible to take DeePsy tests on a mobile phone?
Yes, you can take DeePsy tests on your phone as long as you have a stable internet connection.
